Road & Stormwater Technician

This position is responsible for performing various tasks related to roads, road sides and stormwater maintenance. Full job description available

High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one (1) year previous experience and/or training involving manual labor or maintenance work in the area assigned; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.  Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license; Georgia CDL driver’s license preferred Works under the supervision of the Road & Stormwater Director. Must have the ability to pass background checks and drug testing.

Planning and Development Administrative Assistant
This position is responsible for providing assistance to the Director and other Department staff in the following areas: 1) Receiving, distributing and tracking construction drawings and other Planning and Development related documents for review by applicable departments in the town; 2) Accepting and processing building permit applications, business license applications, and alcohol license applications; 3) Accepting and processing payments for building permits, license fees, utility fees, and all other applicable Planning and Development Fees; 4) Maintain files for building permits, business licenses, and other Planning and Development related documents; 5) Receive and answer communications in areas of permitting, inspections, and licensing 4) Provide other support services to the Planning and Development Department as determined by the Planning and Development Director. 
Full-time position with a High school diploma or GED required. Qualified applicant should possess strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. The qualified applicant should be well versed in Microsoft Office and other software applications. Works under the supervision of the Planning and Development Director. Must have the ability to be bonded, pass background checks and drug testing. Governmental Licensing and/or Permitting experience a plus. 

This is a full time position with benefits available after successfully fulfilling a probationary period.

Multiple Water and Wastewater positions.

These positions require performing multiple tasks and responsibilities in the Public Works Department. The positions include, but are not limited to, operating treatment processes, collecting and analyzing samples, handling chemicals, reading and repairing meters, operating and performing maintenance on equipment, maintenance and repair of service lines, distribution and collection mains, facilities, pumps and other devices.

Positions require the ability to operate various vehicles, equipment, and hand and power tools. Operator positions require the applicant attain certification within one year. Hours will include night and weekend work. On-call duty rotation is required.

Must have at least a high school diploma or GED, and a valid Georgia Driver’s License, CDL is preferred.  Must have the ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test. Existing Operator licenses are preferred but not required.

These are full time positions with benefits.  The salary depends upon qualifications.
